Ive used both newer and older drawknives, I found the older ones easier to use and much easier to sharpen really well. I'm not sure if that's an option for you (or an interest), but it would make for an interesting project/story! ![]() I've heard of lots of people custom-fabricating their own using a piece of steel from a leaf-spring pack (preferably from an older vehicle back from when steel was made properly). The two I have are old so I don't know what brand they are, I never looked for markings on them.Ĭan't go wrong with the Veritas brands - though they are pricey. The old timer who gave it to me has passed away, so its value went up (sentimental) Apparently its hard to come buy, everyone wants to buy it from me, I say no way. It has a nut and a toothed cog where i can adjust it. I have an old antique one an old timer gave me, its at the cabin with the relics.
